Dragon fruits having very attractive color and shape similar to the eyes of the imaginary animal, the dragon, have been quite popular in Vietnam under the name of ‘dragon’s eyes’ or ‘thanh long’. The dragon fruits also have a high nutritional value including vitamin C, calcium, potassium and fiber.
In Vietnam, dragon fruit is popular with 2 types: red and white intestine. Red intestine has more nutrients than white. In 2017, Vietnam was the first and only country licensed to export fresh dragon fruit to Australia after 9 years of negotiation. And now, Vietnam Dragon fruit can export to fastidious markets like Japan.
