The plant can be up to 1.2 m tall, flowering from April to September. The rhizomes can be used medicinally[1], and the leaves, stems and rhizomes are used as spices.The plant grows wild or cultivated in India, China and Southeast Asian countries. In Vietnam, galangal is widely grown.
